Are tips allowed?
Is there a Cancellation Policy?
Yes, if you have reserved your trip with a paid deposit, and you cancel outside of 14 days, your deposit is 100% refundable.
Deposits are not refunded within 14 days of reserved charter date.
As a charter, we aim to please our guests and keep their reservations held to make our living. Keeping your reservations held does not allow other reservations to be booked on top of yours. Cancelling within 14 days would not allow us to fill other reservations that want bookings.
Captain reserves the right to cancel any charter due to weather conditions or for safety of the vessel, her passengers and her crew.
Tips earned within the charter fishing industry are counted on as a means for paying normal living expenses of the crew. You will notice that the crew works hard for your charter to ensure the freshest live bait, using the best techniques, teaching and helping clients, as well as providing for great conversation and memories. Tips of 15% of charter cost is normal, 20% is Instant Karma...Thank you! The crew starts work before you arrive, and works to reset the boat long after clients have left.
Will Local Restaurants Cook My Catch?
Absolutely! Keep it local, ok? At our marina, the restaurant called What the Fish Rolls & More will gladly cook your catch as soon as we arrive to the dock. It doesn't get any fresher than that! We will fillet your fish and it will go straight to the Chef to be prepared immediately!
You could also eat at Made 2 Order which is located within walking distance.
Will I get sea sick?
Can I keep my catch?
Yes, and a couple of options here...Crew will professionally fillet and clean and bag your catch. If you are not leaving for a few days, subzero storage is provided by a Islamorada Fish Freight. You also have the option to ship your catch to arrive back home when you do.
Is there a Hotel Nearby?
Creekside Inn is located steps away from the boat right on the same canal. You would be walking to the boat for your charter.
When is the best time of year to fish?
It depends on what species you are targeting. We fish year round here in Islamorada. We recommend you take a look at our Islamorada Fishing Calendar to get an idea of what month would give you the best chances to land the fish you want to catch. Find the Calendar thru the link above.
It's tough for us to gauge in advance what each client will tolerate for conditions. However, in order to maximize your time and fun on the water during your charter, we recommend taking some bonine or dramamine.
Bonine has only one product; the active per-tablet ingredient is 25 mg of meclizine hydrochloride, which prevents seasickness symptoms with minimal drowsiness. Meanwhile, Dramamine offers several products, including one made from ginger and one designed for kids. Dramamine's original formula, to which we're comparing Bonine, contains 50 mg of dimenhydrinate per tablet, which can cause marked drowsiness.
